The Reviews for All Light Will End (2018) 1080p

All Light Will End: AgonizingReviewed byPlatypuschowVote: 7/10

Ahhhh 1/10 we meet again! So rare they are, but how much damage to my faith in the industry they do.

All Light Will End has some beautiful retro almost Argento like cover art so I was intrigued from the outset. Combine that with the memorable title and I thought this could be a title to turn 2018 around because it still sits as one of the worst years in cinema history on my analytics.

It tells the story of................well it has a girl and...............and she has dreams.............and..........stuff..........happens?!

So yeah, the film isn't exactly easy to follow. I'm not saying it's complex, I'm not saying its intelligent, I'm saying it's an absolute mess that makes absolutely no sense.

Played out in the real world, dream sequences and visions the story is baffling, the pace is ridiculous and the whole movie is a real chore.

I may be hard to impress, but it's also very hard to get a 1/10 out of me. That suggests a film has not one single redeeming feature! And All Light Will End ticks that box.

The Good:

Fantastic cover art

The Bad:

Everything across the board

Things I Learnt From This Movie:

That singing wouldn't have assisted my sleeping, I'd have been engrossed!

What a borefest!Reviewed bygothic-fictionVote: 3/10

It is quite unexplainable how this movie was ever green lighted. Ignoring the part that it is completely and utterly boring, it has a very weak and linear plot, with pretty much nothing to offer.

I am going to keep this short, same as the movie, and just try to warn anyone out there looking for a horror, drama or even something psychological: All Light Will End - But Not Fast Enough.

Try looking elsewhere, been quite a while since a movie disappointed me so badly. If you're into slow burners try The Dark 2018, Thelma or The Endless.

Cheers!

Engagingly Unsettling!Reviewed bykathryne-97156Vote: 10/10

I had the opportunity to view this, marvelous, micro-budgeted horror thriller at a festival this past year.

Honestly, it is hard to classify this movie. It is a psychological thriller but with horrific horror elements that leave you with nightmares for weeks about those you trust most.

Directed by Chris Blake, ALL LIGHT WILL END is about young horror novelist Savannah Martin (Ashley Pereira) who - with a few of her friends - visits her rural hometown for her brother's high school graduation amidst a string of gruesome murders that her father (Andy Buckley) is investigating. We soon discover that Savannah is estranged from her father and that her mother (Sarah Butler) - also a successful novelist - mysteriously committed suicide a few years earlier.

We learn early on in the film that Savannah struggles with despondency, and we get the sense she has something dark buried within her past that she is repressing. Eventually, one of the friends she traveled home with goes missing, and like a virus, a web of horror spreads in punishing psychological fashion.

Needless to say, the tension mounts up very methodically. At the heart of it, ALL LIGHT WILL END, is a story about terrible things people will do for glory, and about the limits of human empathy. The film consistently shows, rather than tells, and only shows what is necessary. I will leave further details on the film's plot and surprises unspoiled.

Intense, shocking, and most of all unsettling. I will leave you with this, ALL LIGHT WILL END rewards the audience's attention to detail and assumes that the audience is intelligent and engaged.

Go see it.
